Blue Dart Q1 income up 14%

Blue Dart Express, a courier and logistics company, on Thursday declared a 13.6% increase in income from operation for the first quarter of FY'02-03 ended June 30 over the same period last year, at its board meeting held in Bangalore. Blue Dart has increased its profit after tax by 20% to Rs 4.5 crore for Q1 as compared to the previous corresponding period. Clyde Cooper, managing director, Blue Dart Express said, "the company has attributed these results to growth in the small package segment. With healthy load factors and the three aircraft running at optimal levels, Blue Dart has been able to fulfil the vital demand for capacity. This has also helped in implementation of Just-In-time distribution and Supply Chain Management Solutions." Blue Dart has added infrastructure, network connectivity and enhanced capacity, mainly to sustain quality service and operational efficiency for future growth. Blue Dart offers delivery of consignments to over 13,000 locations in the region.
