Malcolm Monteiro, COO, Nominated Successor to Clyde Cooper, MD, Blue Dart Express Ltd

Mumbai : December 13, 2005:
Blue Dart Express Limited, South Asia's largest integrated air express, courier and logistics company, today announced that Malcolm Monteiro, Chief Operating Officer, has been nominated as successor to Clyde Cooper, Managing Director, with effect from 13 March 2006. Clyde Cooper will continue to be associated with Blue Dart as a director on the board of the company after 13 March 2006.
Malcolm Monteiro, a graduate of IIT, Mumbai, and an alumni of IIM, Ahmedabad, will be taking over as Managing Director from 13 March 2006. Malcolm Monteiro will focus on reinforcing the vision of Blue Dart, growing the business, maintaining and growing market share, ensuring high customer service standards, and continuing business as usual.
Clyde Cooper, a founding member of Blue Dart, and instrumental in building the organization for the past 22 years, will be relinquishing his position due to family commitments. Clyde Cooper said, "I believe the time is right to hand over the reins of the company to Malcolm. Malcolm brings a wealth of experience of close to 16 years in various functions within the company, including customer service, operations, information technology and human resources, and an expertise in the domestic express domain. Malcolm will be strongly supported by a competent and professional senior management team that has consistently delivered in a dynamic and challenging environment. I am confident that Malcolm will ensure the continued success of Blue Dart."
He added, "I am comfortable with our relationship with DHL, our major shareholder, and I am sure that Malcolm will continue to build on this strong tie and extend our market leadership."
